Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

 

Job purpose

The CFO will be a strategic partner to the leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial and commercial aspects of the shoe manufacturing business.

The role requires deep expertise in manufacturing finance, cost control, working capital management, compliance, and strategic financial planning to support growth and profitability in a competitive market.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the company’s financial strategy in alignment with business goals.
  • Partner with the leadership team to drive business growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide financial insights for strategic decision-making, including new product lines, capacity expansion, and export opportunities.
  • Oversee accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and MIS reporting.
  • Implement robust cost control systems, especially related to raw material sourcing, labor, and production overheads.
  • Manage working capital efficiently — with focus on receivables, payables, and inventory turnover.
  • Ensure accurate and timely closure of books as per Indian Accounting Standards.
  • Monitor plant-level financial performance and cost efficiency.
  • Set up and track KPIs related to production, wastage, yield, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with operations to optimize manufacturing costs and improve gross margins.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements under Indian laws — GST, Income Tax, Companies Act, Labour Laws, and Environmental Regulations.
  • Liaise with statutory auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
  • Develop and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, and investors.
  • Arrange working capital limits, term loans, and other funding needs.
  • Prepare business plans, pitch decks, and financial models for investors and lenders.
  • Lead and mentor the finance & accounts team to ensure high performance and continuous learning.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and ethics in financial management.




Key Requirements

  • Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) mandatory.
  • Experience: 15–20 years in finance, with at least 7-8 years in a leadership role in manufacturing setup.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting, plant finance, supply chain finance, and Indian statutory compliances.
