Job Summary / Job Purpose
· The role will be primarily responsible for managing and growing Government Payment businesses, with a strong focus on PFMS-led government payment ecosystems, including IFMS / SBMS models, DBT-based scheme disbursements, NACH-based bulk payments.
· The position involves end-to-end product ownership for Government Payment products—covering conceptualization, approval, implementation, commercialization and performance monitoring—with extensive coordination across Technology, Solution Delivery, Operations, Sales, Implementation teams, regulators, and external ecosystem partners.
· The role will also ensure regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and profitability while supporting large-scale Government mandates.
Main Responsibilities / Accountabilities / Tasks
· Own PFMS‑led Government payment products, including DBT disbursements, vendor payments, pension/subsidy/scheme payments, and integrations with IFMS / SBMS systems.
Product Management
- Conceptualize, design, and enhance existing and new Government Payments products to meet evolving Government requirements.
- Drive product approval, modification and PPAC processes, coordinating with Internal Approvals, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Technology teams.
- Design solutions incorporating:
- PFMS APIs / file-based integrations
- NACH (Credit/Debit) for bulk and recurring payments
- DBT payment rails and beneficiary validation mechanisms.
Stakeholder & Ecosystem Management
· Work closely with CMS RMs, Government coverage teams, Operations, IT, Solution Delivery, vendors
Sales Support & Commercialization
· Support Sales and Coverage teams with solutioning, feasibility assessments, and deal closures.
· Drive commercialization through training, sales enablement and product awareness initiatives.
· Support end‑to‑end implementation of Government payment mandates, including onboarding, system setup, and go‑live support.
· Monitor and report throughput, transaction volumes, revenues (fees/float), vendor costs, and mandate profitability.
· Maintain MIS and performance dashboards for management reporting.
· Support new initiatives and ad‑hoc assignments to scale PFMS business.
Compliance, Controls & Governance :
- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory guidelines, PFMS advisories and internal Bank policies.
- Proactively identify and mitigate operational, regulatory, and financial risks related to Government payment flows.
- Ensure profitability of mandates by monitoring pricing, vendor costs, and processing expenses.
Academic Background - Postgraduate/ MBA
Overall Working Experience in number of years: Minimum 6-10 years of experience
Relevant Working Experience in number of years: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Cash Management Product(Govt.)
Skills & Competencies required
· Experience in PFMS‑based Government payment operations, including DBT, IFMS / SBMS, and large‑volume transaction handling.
· Working knowledge of NACH (Credit/Debit) and bulk payment frameworks.
· Exposure to Government departments, PSUs, Treasuries, or scheme‑based payment models.
· Strong stakeholder management, analytical, and coordination skills.
